Assembler I – HESC

 

Basic Function:  Terminate fiber optic connections, strip fiber length, polish fiber, and crimp termini.  Assemble cable connectors and fiber cable.  Read specification assembly drawings and bills of material from a work order.

Minimum Education and Experience

A high school diploma or GED (General Education Diploma) is required.

Essential Skills, Abilities, Knowledge, and Experience: Demonstrate manual dexterity, and use small hand tools, screwdrivers, and Allen wrenches.  Must have eye and hand coordination for detailed ability to recognize mechanical fit problems.  Ability to read, understand, and communicate work instructions and process procedures.   Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.  Ability to organize, complete tasks, and manage time.  Pays close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and help resolve problems.  Knowledge of fiber optic assembly processes, handling of fiber cable and epoxy bonding a plus.  Experience with ISO9001 or AS9100 requirements is a plus.

Engineering Test Technician

Engineering Test Technician

 

Basic Function: 

Conduct tests, collect data, and maintain product performance test databases. Assist in product development and production testing.

 

Significant Responsibilities:

 Performs specific job responsibilities:

  • Assemble prototypes and sample lots of products for performance testing
  • Set up equipment, conduct experiments, calculate and record the results.
  • Help develop, prototype, and test electrical and electronic equipment and devices
  • Evaluate test results on products. Determine pass-fail conditions for cable and connector products by performance category.
  • Manufacture Test Adapters by evaluating, testing and adjusting jacks based on test data and provided criteria.
  • Qualify components per test requirements and develop adjustment methods based on performance category and lot numbers.
  • Manufacture test fixtures and components. Install SMT components to PCBs. Press and solder components as shown on assembly documents. Test assemblies per documentation

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education & Experience: 

Two year degree in electronics, mechanics, or industrial technology or 3 to 5 years equivalent experience

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: 

  • Soldering
  • Set up and operation of test equipment.
  • Identify product components and assemblies.
  • Determine appropriate tests, sampling, measurements, and procedures.
  • Read and understand product design drawings, schematics, and technical drawings.
  • Use precision measurement tools and devices such as Network Analyzers, Time Domain Reflectometers, and high voltage testing equipment.

Outside Sales Rep – Arizona

Basic Function:  The Outside Sales Representative performs proactive sales activities for all OCC products and drives increased sales within the designated geographical territory.

 Significant Responsibilities:

  • Maintains high-level knowledge of the OCC product base and effectively close sales to meet territory, regional, and corporate-wide goals.
  • Develops and maintains relationships with influencers in the market including engineers, contractors, installers, integrators, distributors, and others that will result in the selection of OCC products by a customer and/or end user.
  • Drives sales proactively as a specialist in OCC enterprise products; supports and engages other members of the sales team:

  • Maintains generalist knowledge of all OCC products in all segments to provide sales support successfully.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Basic Function:   Serves as a technical specialist for all cable and connectivity products related to a target market.  Drives increased sales by proactively supporting the efforts to customers in these target markets.

  • Serves as a market specialist by understanding OCC products, target markets, competitor products and customer base, market standards, product trends and developments.

Quality Inspector

 

Basic Function:  Performs incoming, in-process and finished goods inspections according to work instructions and procedures.  Assist with customer/vendor returns and related data entry.

 

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Perform incoming inspections, non-complex first article, finished goods inspections customer returns for compliance to specifications and auditing.
  • Assist with receiving incoming materials and match to purchase orders through utilization of the ERP system.
  • Processes customer returns and returns to suppliers and handles all associated paperwork.
  • Ensure incoming material meets specific requirements per blueprint.
  • Ensure incoming material is moved to proper location.
  • Ensure that all paperwork and inspection reports are accurate and complete.
  • Maintain manual and electronic record filing system for incoming materials and returns.
  • Ensure materials and return products are in accordance with established tolerance levels for quality and performance.
  • Recognize defects and problems that arise during production of OCC products.
  • Complete Defective Material/Non-conforming Material notices and coordinate disposition of affected material.
  • Roving inspection of work-in-process.

Intermediate computer knowledge of Microsoft applications including Word and Excel.  Ability to read and follow basic instructions.  Ability to understand and implement quality procedures.  Good communication skills, both written and oral.  Ability to read Bills of Materials, Engineering drawings, and ECN’s.  Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.  Pays close attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and recognize and assist in resolving problems.

Basic Function:  Responsible for organizing work orders for Fiber area to include paperwork, materials, and labels are accounted for before the job goes into the Fiber area in a timely manner.

  • Read the Bill of Materials and ensure all material associated with the work order is accounted for
  • Works closely with Inventory and Components for proper kits and assemblies required for upcoming jobs
  • Uses label printer to create labels for each order and ensures they are accurate
  • Handles some prep work including dressing copper fibers

Maintenance Technician – NIGHTS

Maintenance Technician

Basic Function: Set up and maintain industrial machinery.

 

Significant Responsibilities:

  • Setting-up and/or assembling new machinery per specifications.
  • Observing machines or equipment (for visual and audio signs) to diagnose malfunctions and determine necessary adjustments and/or repairs. Studying blueprints, sketches, machine parts, or specifications to determine appropriate repairs.  Assembling and testing operating machines to verify the correction of malfunctions.
  • Dismantling and reassembling machines or equipment to replace defective parts as required.
  • Performing scheduled preventive maintenance on machinery. Completing paperwork on parts used and repairs made.
  • Maintaining and lubricating machine tools and equipment as required.
  • Conducting all activities following the safety procedures and guidelines.
  • Utilizing and following quality policy and operating procedures to ensure the quality and consistency of the job performance.

Experience:   1-3 years related experience and/or training preferred.   MT1 and/or industrial maintenance certification is desirable.  Military and Technical skills and training will be considered in Lieu of field experience.

                                

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:   Excellent mechanical aptitude with the ability to operate a variety of machine tools, assemble parts to fabricate or repair machine tools, and proper maintenance of machinery.  Ability to read and follow complex instructions, ability to understand and implement quality procedures.  Math and handwriting skills and the ability to complete correctly all documentation.  Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.   Attention to detail with the ability to complete assignments accurately and help resolve problems. Ability to operate a forklift and aerial Work platform. Basic Electrical, hydraulic, and Pneumatic skills will be used daily. Machining and fabrication skills are a plus. The ability to create Electrical and Mechanical drawings are also essential skills.

1 ¼” Extruder Operator

Summary: Sets-up, runs and monitors 1 ¼” extrusion equipment used for the manufacture of fiber optic cable by performing the following job responsibilities.

Significant Responsibilities:

Performs specific job responsibilities:

    • Reads the set-up sheet and utilizes the file name to determine product to be manufactured, machine adjustments, and material requirements.
    • Sets up, runs and continuously monitors the 1 ¼” extrusion line for all products.
    • Observes, measures, and inspects products at various stages of the production process to ensure product is being produced per proper set-up sheet specifications.
    • Accurately completes all documentation specific to this job function.
    • Cleans equipment to prevent contamination as required.
    • Recognizes various defects and problems that arise during production. Assists in solving problems or notifies supervisor if required. Completes non-conformity paperwork for all defects and problems in products.
    • Conducts all activities in accordance with safety procedures and guidelines.

Executive Assistant and Accountant

 

Basic Function:  The Executive Assistant and Accountant (“EAA”) actively supports the CFO and accounting and finance department and is responsible for providing high-level administrative support ensuring the smooth workflow and daily operations of the department. Additionally, the EAA performs general accounting transactions including support as required to complete period-end financial statements.

Significant Responsibilities:

  1. Performs specific job responsibilities:
    • Provide general to complex administrative tasks to support the CFO and accounting and finance department.
    • Assist with compilation of quarterly closing binders, including to provide support to CEO and Auditors, preparation of quarterly materials for Audit Committee meetings, and quarterly SEC filings; including proofreading and other documents as needed; scheduling internal and external meetings
    • Maintain documentation for Binder Closet, CPE information for all CPAs in the department, Outlook calendar and contacts for CFO, eFiles for SEC filings and other corporate documents as well as hard-copy filings for CFO
    • Complete travel arrangements, documentation supporting credit card purchases, and other support as requested
    • Provide assistance with Expense Reports and electronic timekeeping for the CFO and department as needed
    • Provide support/backup in the setup of conference bridge-line, conference rooms, and scheduling meetings
    • Administrative duties for Retirement Plan Committee, Security access for Wells Fargo Connection, AMEX Rewards Program, and Restricted Stock Awards
    • Prepares certain monthly and quarterly journal entries
    • Prepares certain monthly and quarterly work papers
    • Performs certain account reconciliations
    • Completes period-end closing tasks as assigned
    • Compiles data (daily, period end, and ad hoc) as needed
    • Other duties as requested

Job Scope:

  • Coordinates and completes administrative functions for the CFO, including communications within the department

  • Must maintain a high level of confidentiality, including confidential and proprietary financial information
  • Communicates with all levels of employees regarding matters of financial concern
  • Moderate level of judgment and decision-making required within accounting guidelines and Sarbanes-Oxley regulations.  Refer appropriate issues to the Supervisor
  • Overnight/out-of-state travel is not typical but may be occasionally required
  • General understanding and strong adherence to all compliance-related matters, including Sarbanes-Oxley, Safety, and others related to public status.

 

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education: Two-year college degree and three (3) years accounting-related experience preferred, or equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience.  Experience in a comparably complex multi-subsidiary accounting environment is preferred.

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: 

  • Excellent computer skills required with experience using software packages such as payroll systems, Microsoft Word, and Excel
  • Demonstrated ability to properly compile and maintain financial data.

Marketing Specialist

Marketing Specialist

Basic Function:   Provides planning and coordination support for the annual Tradeshow calendar to ensure strategic participation that increases ROI and lead generation.  Assists in executing branding and awareness projects and campaigns.  Acts as a “generalist” supporting a variety of marketing and administrative functions.

Significant Responsibilities:

 General Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the sample request process, ensure samples are cut timely and shipped as needed; track sample stock and requests in Excel.
  • Organize and maintain onsite stock of marketing collateral to provide in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Perform administrative functions that support marketing efforts, projects, and other departmental commitments, including bank deposits.
  • Monitors the effective use of lead generation and customer engagement tools, especially HubSpot’s successful use for increased customer reach
  • Collect critical intelligence for Marketing’s use to include competitor branding, products, projects; market industry research; general trends in the cable and connectivity industry.
  • Builds trust, values others, communicates effectively, drives execution, fosters innovation, focuses on the customer, collaborates with others, solves problems creatively and demonstrates high integrity.
  • Manages projects effectively, understands the variables that could impact completion and proactively mitigates such impact in order to meet deadlines.

Tradeshow Coordinator:

  • Develops, with support from Marketing Manager and associated sales members, a Tradeshow Planning Package for all participants:
    1. Defines the branding statements for the show,
    2. Identifies the product set for display and focus in the booth,
    3. Booth design and set up,
    4. Competitor analysis – prepare attendees for naming OCC benefits against competitor products based on pre-show research.
    5. Customer review – targets for the show.
  • Serves as primary contact for internal and external contacts involved with a show.
  • Handles administrative functions and logistics:
    1. Creates AFEs and tracks expenses and completes expense reports in a timely and accurate manner
    2. Show documentation, product requests, booth planning, collateral oversight, shipping,
    3. Lead retrieval;
  • Manages tradeshow inventory: maintains a current list of inventory locations, sets ordering/packing/shipping schedule for shows, and coordinates to/from/between show travel.
  • Coordinates a post-show review and ensures a Tradeshow Executive Summary is completed.
  • Attends 4-7 tradeshows per year to direct/complete setup and tear down.
  • Monitors the effective use of lead generation and customer engagement tools, especially HubSpot’s successful use for increased customer reach
  • Effectively implements/continues the use of social media tools

 

Branding Administrator:

  • Provides support to the Marketing Manager on setting communications calendar;
  • Executes branding activity as assigned:
    1. Social media postings
    2. Distributor marketing program activity
    3. Manages print collateral: oversees print orders, and assists in collateral development and distribution.
    4. Supports digital collateral such as webinars, and email campaigns.

 

Lead Generation Partner:

  • Supports lead-generating activities within the marketing team (email campaigns, small events, webinars),
  • Understands and manages HubSpot,
  • Ensures tradeshow, event, and website leads are tracked appropriately and provided to the field.

 

Coordinate and maintain marketing vendor relationships (primarily related to trade shows and customer programs) for ordering supplies and services, arranging for payments and keeping track of marketing expenditures.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

Education:  Bachelor’s degree preferred but Associates degree or HS Diploma combined with 3+years of experience in marketing (including tradeshow experience) or related position

Experience: 2-4 years of experience in a marketing and/or event/trade show role preferred

Licensure, Certification, and/or Registration:  None                           

Other Minimum Qualifications:  Effective interpersonal communication and teamwork skills.

Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge: 

  • Able to travel
  • Project management skills (exposure to formal PMP practices preferred)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office required.
  • Ability to read and follow basic instructions, as well as understand and implement quality procedures.
