ERP, Material Mover & Fiber Specialist
Basic Function: Enters and processes work orders into the ERP system.
Significant Responsibilities:
- Performs specific job responsibilities:
- Accurately and timely entering and processing of work orders into the ERP system. Examples of work orders include, but are not limited to the following:
Manufactured Work Orders
Stock Work Orders
Remake Work Orders
Engineering Work Orders
- Coordinate all areas of the company as to job status and work order distribution; ensure the accurate and timely distribution of work orders to the appropriate facility location.
- Accurately and timely distribute work orders to the appropriate location within the facility.
- Monitor non-conformance areas for un-remitted remakes, and ensure compliance with the Remake Work Order Process.
- Coordinates with Senior Planner to ensure all dried materials needed for the manufacturing team are met. Dries materials and moves to extruder lines as needed to ensure all production needs are fulfilled.
- Assembles completed jobs from our OTDR 1 & 2 in process testing stations, verifies all paperwork, and promptly delivers to the next operation.
- Accurately and timely perform cycle counts of inventory to ensure the accuracy of the perpetual inventory system.
- Utilizes and follows quality policy and operating procedures to ensure the quality and consistency of the job being performed.
- Intra-Departmental cross-training as required
- Performs specific Fiber Inventory responsibilities:
- Receives fiber inventory from vendors, scans and applies internal ID numbers onto appropriate identification cards. Unpack fibers and prepare them for entry into the fiber storage area.
- Stores, consolidates, and pulls fibers for allocation to purchase orders and stock orders, and delivers fiber to the associated buffer line for buffer manufacturing.
- Conducts all documentation as it relates to removing and adding fiber inventory, linking fibers to ERP jobs, fiber inventory accuracy, and all documentation required for the job function.

Minimum Qualifications Required:
Education & Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED) and one to three years of experience in a manufacturing environment utilizing an ERP package preferred, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Other Minimum Qualifications: Possess good organizational skills with the ability to properly prioritize work order flow in and out.
Essential Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:
- Excellent computer skills required with experience using several software packages such as Microsoft Word and Excel, and ERP software
- Excellent oral and written communication skills required with the ability to speak clearly and distinctly on the phone and project a courteous helpful attitude to all personnel.
- Ability to read and follow complex instructions.
- Ability to understand and implement quality procedures.
- Math and handwriting skills required sufficient to meet work requirements.
- Ability to correctly complete all documentation.
- Ability to work in a team environment with minimal supervision.
Working Conditions: This is a sedentary job that requires a sighted individual (vision corrected to 20/20) for computer usage and significant reading skills and requires an individual with normal hearing (i.e., hearing corrected to normal ranges) for telephone and direct contact with company personnel. Significant keyboarding duties require sufficient manual dexterity for keyboarding. Conducts all activities following safety procedures and guidelines.
